| The BEEHIVE GIRLS™ were created to inspire women to nurture their friendships and to empower women. The support system we create through our friendships is so fundamental in surviving in this crazy world. Life can be overwhelming and stressful. We forget to make time for our selves and our girlfriends. Let the BEEHIVE GIRLS™ speak for you!
Tamara Clary Clark is the owner of TC Artworks, Inc. Tamara graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond Virginia, with a BFA in Fashion Illustration. She later attended Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, receiving her Teaching Certificate in Art Education.
The idea of the BEEHIVE GIRLS™ evolved in 2000. Tamara says, “I have been so fortunate throughout my life to have a strong support system of my girlfriends and my family. I had two special role models in my life, my grandmother Virginia Evans and my mother Jean Clary Bagley. Both are strong, independent women who have a lust for life and for making this world a better place.
They taught me three very important life lessons that every woman should know:
● They taught me what being a friend truly is.
● They taught me how to unselfishly give to others.
● They taught me how to empower myself.
I started my Decorative Finishing business, TC Artworks, Inc., in 1999. As my business grew, I was putting in so many hours. I began to slowly forget to make time for my girlfriends and me. I would search for the perfect card or gift item to send to my friends that would express my thoughts. Well, I found very little.
Voila! The BEEHIVE GIRLS™ were created.
I grew up in the 1960’s and was influenced by the larger than life hairstyles. My friends and I would always laugh at the “do’s” our mothers were wearing. I created a humorous illustration of girlfriends and called them the BEEHIVE GIRLS™.
I wanted to showcase the girls in a line of greeting cards and giftware that women could share with their girlfriends. So, be inspired through the BEEHIVE GIRLS™…to inspire, to encourage or to send a smile. Reach for your dreams, discover yourself and nurture your friendships!”
